The questions customers ask most
If the answer depends on the surface condition, the safest next step is an inspection rather than a guess.
Important: Closure and reopening times vary by service, material, weather, and traffic. Always follow the instructions for your project.
How do I know which asphalt service I need?
Faded, structurally sound asphalt may be a candidate for sealcoating. Individual open cracks may need crack treatment. Potholes, sunken areas, broken edges, or heavily cracked areas usually need patching first. A.A. Sealcoat will inspect the pavement and recommend the appropriate work.
How is the estimate calculated?
Pricing depends on the size and condition of the paved area, preparation and repairs needed, access, materials, and the requested service. Schedule a free estimate for project-specific pricing.
What should I do before the crew arrives?
Move vehicles and portable items away from the work area and make sure the crew can reach the pavement. A.A. Sealcoat will provide any additional preparation or access instructions for your project.
What happens if the weather changes?
Most asphalt maintenance requires a dry surface and suitable weather. Rain, temperature, or other site conditions may require the schedule to change. A.A. Sealcoat will confirm any adjustment with you.
How long will the area need to stay closed?
Closure time depends on the service, material, temperature, weather, and traffic. Sealed surfaces commonly need at least 24 hours before vehicle traffic, but always follow the reopening time provided for your project.
Can every crack be filled?
No. Individual eligible cracks can often be treated, but widespread alligator cracking, sunken pavement, potholes, or base failure may require patching or a larger repair. Crack treatment does not add structural strength.
When can sealcoating be applied?
Sealcoating requires suitable temperatures, a dry surface, and a stable weather window. The workable season can vary from year to year, so A.A. Sealcoat will confirm whether conditions are appropriate.
Why might fresh sealcoat show tire marks?
Freshly sealed pavement can sometimes show temporary scuffing or turning marks while it continues to cure, especially during warm weather. Avoid sharp or stationary turns and follow the project-specific reopening instructions.
How soon can the work be scheduled?
Timing depends on current workload, weather, project size, and the work required. Calendly schedules the estimate; the work date is confirmed after the scope has been reviewed.
Do you serve homes and businesses in my area?
A.A. Sealcoat serves residential and commercial customers across eastern Oregon, the Treasure Valley, the Magic Valley, and north to McCall. Availability may depend on the exact location and project scope.
